Drowning under waves of sadness and pain. Heartache engulfing my very being.
My thoughts clasped to the memory of us.
My arms reaching into the darkness.
Searching for any hope of rescue.
Slowly fading into the loneliness.
This never-ending sense of loss.
The sudden disconnect of what used to be.
Darkness engulfing me, drowning in waves of sobbing and tears.
My hand clasped in yours, reaching for answers to bring you back to me.
Faith came to your rescue, our miracle would come 19 days later.
You are here with me now because of one simple question, "Do you do anything different with her that you didn't do with the other children?"
Dear Lady Skylark - Becca🐦,
Thank you so much Becca. I feel like I'm floating on cloud nine right now! Winning the challenge was really beyond expectation after reading other amazing stories by people. I am soooooooooo happy.
The feedbacks are another thing that am grateful for. I too thought in the second entry I'm being a little forceful with the words, but the idea was stuck in my mind and I just had to write it down. I'll give it another try, and see if I can do more justice to it.
As for the first entry Becca, I think I couldn't convey it properly, so I'll improve in that also.
Still I'd like to tell you what I intended in the story, and you might then be able to help me how I could ...
Her spirits had gone down before REACHING the podium. The audience CLASPED their hands. An aungish began to hurt her like heat WAVES, was ENGULFING her entirely. " Who would RESCUE me this time " She thought. While she noticed a smiling face among the audience that brought her spirit back. He was none but the one who she loved silently through out her life.
When the thoughts fling around my head
When the path was meant to lead me ahead
Those woods forked that lane into two
My eye could view a different hue
Flying the forked path
Reviving the memory of lost sight
I turned up choosing the rarest lane
No matter those gazes makes me insane
I thought he had rescued me, but he decided to fling me into heartache.
The arms that once held me pushed me away.
I keep reaching through this darkness while the waves of his memory wash over me.
They keep engulfing me, drowning me.
He hid the fork of his lie filled tongue, his words flying through my thoughts.
My heartbeat no longer clasped to his as he disappeared back into the universe.
He has left me stranded for eternity in this lonely and dark world.
Skylark challenge 204
like broken pieces
of a mottled mirror
I try to reassemble;
and faces just as obscure
but last night I saw her
across the dimly lit restaurant
her eyes rested on me briefly
and I glimpsed a sharp
look of recognition
cut across her face
I had the impression
she was about to say something
but she only pursed her lips,
her face a mask, holding
an inscrutable expression
then she looked away
smiling at her companion
and the years’ deep chasm
felt deeper than eternity...
